Web DirectorAhmed has more than ten years of hands-on experience with Web design and development. He is a pioneer in the Content Management Systems (CMS) area as he was one of the original founders of Marqui CMS back in 1999. He has designed and developed numerous sites and web solutions for some of Canada's largest companies and organizations like Translink, Simon Fraser University, BC Housing, David Suzuki Foundation, and the BC Liberals.
Ahmed has also developed Flash and multimedia applications for IBM's Center for Advanced Learning, Chalk Media, The Ethical Funds Company and Fortinet.
His expertise in CMS and online marketing arena and also his passion for user experience design and usability, make him a valuable addition to the WOW team. When Ahmed is not working, he is playing music on his Lute (seriously..) and participating in local theatre and musical productions.
Q. How would you describe the culture at WOW?
A. The culture at WOW is a "No Frills" minimalist culture, capable of producing effective results to our clients. Eliminating unnecessary overhead in the way we do business while focusing on our client’s business success and bottom line.
Q. Tell me about your most memorable project?
A. Implementing a CMS solution for Mashreq Bank in Dubai. The project involved a diverse virtual team spanning the globe. With designers and analysts in Canada, developers in India and business stakeholders in Dubai. I was leading the implementation team as well as training technical and business users on using the system.
Q. What do you do outside of work?
A. Outside of work my passions are playing classical Egyptian music on the Lute, watching movies from across the globe, poring over Wikipedia and occasionally acting for film and theatre.
